Job Title: Solicitor and Company Secretariat Control Function: * Yes Contract Type: Permanent Location: St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based Closing date: 8th November 2024 Royal London Ireland has a new vacancy for a Solicitor and seeking applications from suitable candidates to join our Legal and Company Secretarial team.
This is a newly created position in a small team, working closely with the Head of Legal at Royal London Ireland to promote the success of the company and protect its commercial interests, including its reputation.
You will support Royal London Insurance DAC in the management of legal risk and in undertaking its legal and regulatory obligations through the provision of effective and appropriate legal advice, corporate governance advice and company secretarial support.
About the role To provide Royal London Insurance DAC with Legal and Company Secretarial support in a proactive manner including, but not limited to: Providing legal advice with support to all areas of the business.
Assist the Head of Legal and the Executive team with identification and prudent management of legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
Act as a business partner, enabling key decision makers to achieve commercial and strategic goals consistent with laws and regulations.
General legal advice and assistance in relation to business initiatives, programmes, services and products including policy documentation.
Support the business with maintaining the necessary standards of governance consistent with regulatory requirements and ensuring the decision–making structure is effective and suitable.
Supporting and/or act as secretary to certain core governance committees, including minute taking.
Assist as required on transactions, business developments and special projects with a particular focus on having oversight of the delivery of services to specific strategic business areas and support functions.
About you Commercially focussed lawyer.
Must be a qualified solicitor.
Financial services/regulatory experience (ideally life assurance and/or pensions experience) is an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Experience of stakeholder management with an ability to influence effectively, build business relationships and gain the trust of senior executives.
Understanding of corporate governance and company law is desirable.
Familiarity with Data Protection Law.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with experience of managing contract negotiations from inception to close.
Commercial experience and experience with Outsourcing is an advantage.
Able to draft clear and well-structured advice and documents for increasingly complex matters.
Able to coordinate / work with external lawyers / law firms.
