Who We NeedThe Senior Manager, Global Accounting will support the month-end close process as well as analysis and operational activities. This includes monitoring and assessing the various accounting operations and systems integral to the close process, reviewing journal entries, reviewing reconciliations, and other ad hoc analysis to identify and resolve issues with financial impacts. This position should be focused on promoting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the "shared service" side of the accounting department through exceptional accounting, processing, and collaboration.
What You'll DoDirects and participates in the monthly close process and other daily activities (e.g. journal entries, accruals process, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting) of the Global Accounting organization.Ensures that the financial/accounting processes are performed in a timely and accurate manner per the close calendar.Ensures that general ledger reconciliations are completed within policy compliance, that reconciling items are assessed for both potential exposure and their underlying root cause, and leading corrective actions to prevent their reoccurrence.Maintains a robust financial control environment and looks for efficiency improvements to current systems and processes, ensuring compliance with US and local GAAP, applicable laws, and regulations.In collaboration with Global Accounting leadership and IT, responsible for the maintenance of the NetSuite general ledger system, including maintaining the chart of accounts and related hierarchies in consultation with peers, and conducting routine ledger maintenance activities in support of the month and year-end close process.Responsible for administration and maintenance of our foreign bank accounts and maintains a relationship as our primary contact with local branches.Pro-actively seeks areas to improve the transactional accounting function and related internal processes.Provides reporting on a regular basis and manages internal and year-end external audit deliverables required from the department.Answers accounting-related queries, resolving problems and issues promptly, delivering excellent customer service standards.In collaboration with other Global Accounting leadership, provides leadership to accounting staff, and strives to deliver outstanding results and service.Manages team performance by allocating priorities and workloads to enable direct reports to achieve and exceed individual and team goals and objectives.Develops a positive, high performing and collaborative team to ensure that services and requirements are being met or exceeded.Builds the capabilities, tools, and skills within the general accounting team, driving high levels of individual accountability, engagement, empowerment, and development.Acts as an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated role model for the team. Builds a culture of continuous improvement and openness to change.Actively manages the talent and career paths of individuals within the general accounting team, including conducting performance and development reviews and succession planning with all direct reports.Skills You'll Need to HaveBachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance.CPA preferred.More than seven years' experience in accounting with at least two years in a supervisory/managerial role.Work experience in a Shared Services or Auditing firm is preferable.Knowledgeable in ERP or accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.Proficient in MS Office, e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Presentation.Excellent people management skills and have handled mid-size team.Good organizational and time-management skills.Responsible and responsive to all concerns.Positive and collaborative attitude.Possess strong analytical & problem-solving skills with the ability to execute well thought out decisions.Can work under pressure.Excellent client and project management skills and have handled multiple clients and engagements.Able to work independently and as a member of a team.Ability to plan, organize and schedule work flow to meet rigid report deadlines in an accurate and timely manner.Ability to work in a fast changing and growing Company.Accountable for setting and delivering challenging KPIs and team targets managed through day to day guidance and direction.Benefits and PerksAn opportunity to do something great for yourself and the world.A great work environment that supports growth, development, and most importantly having fun!
