Role Keelvar has an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering Team as a Staff Engineer.
This role is remotely based in either Ireland, Germany, the UK or Spain.
We are unable to consider applications seeking to work from any other locations at this point in time.
Reporting to our Chief Architect, you will be part of a cross functional team responsible for building and supporting new and existing products and features, and will be setting the technical direction of our products.
The successful candidate will join a group of engineers from different backgrounds including Software Dev,  Data Science, UI and Product design.
Responsibilities Lead the design and architecture of robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions for our products, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with business goals.
Champion best practices in software engineering (scalability, security, reliability), ensuring code quality, performance, and maintainability across the organization.
Drive innovation through experimentation and rapid prototyping, bringing forward new ideas to improve both product and process.
Own the end-to-end delivery of features and services, from development to production, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving service resilience.
Guide and mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Influence the technical roadmap, working closely with leadership to define and prioritize long-term strategic initiatives.
Serve as a go-to technical expert across multiple domains, helping solve the toughest technical challenges the team faces.
Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and practices, ensuring they evolve to meet the growing and changing demands of the product and the business.
Understand and deliver on our customer's needs and goals.
Your profile 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience building and delivering large-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
Experience in building SaaS solutions is a strong bonus.
Proven track record of driving technical direction and delivering high-quality software at scale in a collaborative, agile environment.
Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and modern development practices.
Strong advocate for continuous improvement in engineering processes.
Expert Python knowledge with a passion for clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
Expertise in designing distributed, fault-tolerant services using both RESTful and message-driven APIs.
Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS is preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven systems.
Strong understanding of system performance, scalability, and reliability, with experience in performance tuning and optimizing complex distributed applications.
