The Office of the President welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates with outstanding communications expertise to join our staff as Strategic Communications Specialist.
The Strategic Communications Specialist, a role within the President's Office, develops and implements the President's Communication Strategy for a range of audiences internally, nationally, and internationally.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting and developing communicationsManaging the President's social media presenceDrafting speechesEnsuring adherence to event protocol for high-level events hosted by the PresidentThe Strategic Communications Specialist works closely with and reports directly to the Chief of Staff.
This is a critical position in a fast-paced office, and the candidate needs to be able to demonstrate an ability to work accurately, under pressure and independently.
The successful candidate will be discreet and trustworthy and demonstrate a proven capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information.
In addition, the successful candidate will be willing and able to work well with others and be part of a team supporting the President.
The position involves a high level of academic and administrative liaison with colleagues across the University and key external stakeholders.
The position affords the post holder the autonomy to develop both their skills and potential in a collegiate, supportive, and cooperative working environment.
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
