General Summary: About The Role The System Hardware Validation Engineer will work as part of Qualcomm's SVE (System Validation Emulation) Team on leading technologies such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
SVE have a critical impact on getting high quality functional products to millions of customers quickly and we are hiring all levels from junior to staff roles.
You will be joining a team of expert low-level validation engineers with diverse backgrounds (Synthetic OS, DDR memories, sensors, security, CPUs and caching, Nucleus RTOS, embedded systems) to test Qualcomm's next generation SoCs.
As part of the system validation team you will develop or port test software to evaluate new hardware IPs.
You will focus development in the areas of Driver/Firmware Development and Validation, Debug and Resolution of Issues and Software Use-Case Implementation.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with system architects, software engineers, hardware designers and verification engineers.
Role & Responsibilities In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:
Delivery of low-level hardware drivers for Qualcomm Snapdragon SubsystemsManage validation and testing of the driver/hardwareMigrate drivers to new platforms as requiredDrive innovation in software use casesOn-going code re-factoringTest plan development and executionWhat are we looking for? Candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
Candidates are expected to have:
Experience in Low Level software development in C, C++, and Assembly.Excellent knowledge of ARM and RISC V processorsExperience in automation and test/integration methodologies.Experience developing validation methodologies and infrastructure solutions.Experience with SCM tools (GIT, Perforce)Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA)Good communication skillsStrong debug skillsPreferred Skills Developing and optimizing test framework and tools to create a controlled validation environment to support large scale validation.Designing and defining new validation strategy as well as detailed test plans.Lead debug efforts for issues found during Pre-silicon and Post-silicon.Define, design, and execute platform Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon validation plans for current and future products.Provide mentorship and technical direction to a distributed team of system validation engineers for program execution.Educational Requirements Required: Bachelors in Engineering (Masters preferred)Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science or related fieldWhere you will be working Cork has a proud reputation as Ireland's second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies.
