Systems Development Engineer, Sidewalk

Sidewalk SDK team owns all the components and infrastructure that is backbone of the Sidewalk network.
The team is responsible for scaling the core connectivity for the network.
The team is looking for a System Development Engineer to enhance the developer journey and customer experience.

As a member of our team, you will be interacting closely with the business and cross-functional engineering teams across different organizations to gather engineering requirements, design and implement new features.
You will contribute to all aspects of an agile software & systems development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing and operations.
You are the engineer that other engineers can count on; you are technical, you attack every problem with enthusiasm.

Key job responsibilities Dive deep and take ownership for critical design issues, overall system performance, etc.Participate in design reviews for complex systems, algorithms and software developmentDefine and optimize systems and software architecture and implementationDefine and/or refine system requirements, participate in the development and delivery of features.Implement key metrics, set system performance KPIs and design debug tools to continuously monitor and improve on our network solutions About the team
Amazon Sidewalk is a new long-term effort to greatly extend the working range of low-bandwidth, low-power, smart lights, sensors, and other low-cost devices customers install at the edge of their home network.
We believe customers shouldn't have to settle for connected devices that lose functionality past the front door.
With Amazon Sidewalk, customers will be able to place smart devices anywhere on their property and know the devices will work, even in dead spots where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don't reach, helping bridge the connectivity gaps around our homes!BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 4+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3 years delivering software in a production environment.
- Experience in developing software for Linux.
- Extensive embedded development experience in C and C++, and familiarity with ARM CPUs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experienced in embedded device software security technology, secure boot, secure elements, TEE.
- Experience with low-level programming and embedded systems.
- Scripting skills (E.g: Python, Perl, Bash, Go, PowerShell …etc.)
will be an added advantage.
