The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the Finance Team of a European Head office of a multinational company based in Cork. You will report to the Tax Manager and will have the opportunity to work with both Tax and General Ledger Accounting teams. You will also work closely with other teams in the European Operations Centre including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Logistics, Customer Operations and Commercial teams.
Duties & Responsibilities: Preparation, collation, and submission of various compliance returns including Corporation Tax, WHT, VAT and statistical returns for entities throughout Europe;Preparation and review of monthly tax provisions and tax reports for financial reporting and statutory reporting purposes;Assist with co-ordination of tax queries, reviews and audits, including liaising with external service providers and tax inspectors;Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and deal with external advisors, local tax authorities and other third parties;Reconciliations of tax accounts in the balance sheet and profit and loss account for all European entities;Preparation of transfer pricing reports and review of TP policies;Identify and introduce process improvements and efficiencies;Management of compliance calendar to ensure that all returns are submitted on time;Assist with training and review of tasks;Support the General Ledger Accounting team as needed with month-end, quarter-end and statutory reporting activities.You Are: Motivated and driven with excellent time management skills;Curious and someone who takes complete ownership of their responsibilities;Able to follow through, complete tasks and work to support others in completing tasks within regular recurring deadlines;Able to research issues independently and present and communicate findings in a clear manner;A natural collaborator and able to influence and work cross functionally;Approachable and confident with a positive personality;A good written and verbal communicator and are fluent in written and spoken English.You Have: Tax qualification or a keen interest in tax accounting and compliance including corporation tax and transfer pricing;Hands-on experience with tax accounting and compliance, primarily corporation tax;Experience working in a multinational environment;Experience undertaking GL Accounting activities including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, group reporting;Superb attention to detail and willingness to take responsibility;A keen appetite to learn systems and technologies.At Trend Micro, we embrace change, empower people, and encourage innovation in a connected world.
