Details of the offer

Accountable for managing and monitoring tax compliance for the CarTrawler business across the Group, in addition to supporting the Head of Tax in identifying and solving for tax-focused opportunities and risks for the group. This is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to: Director of Tax and Treasury
Main accountabilities and key tasks: Responsibility for ensuring accurate completion and compliance with tax return filing and reporting requirements across all Tax heads (mainly Corporation Tax and Indirect taxes) across all jurisdictions the CarTrawler Group operates in.Responsibility for managing the R&D tax credit documentation process including review of the financial calculations and working with advisors on the preparation of technical reports.Support other business functions on tax related queries (e.g. support on payroll implications of employee offerings).Provide support to commercial functions by ensuring that tax is appropriately considered for commercial decisions and analysis.Proactively seek to ensure the business is educated on all relevant tax models (e.g. VAT) to ensure efficiency and alignment.Support the Director of Tax and Treasury on various tax projects as and when they arise, ensuring to liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders. This includes supporting on corporate structuring and exit planning projects as they arise.Responsibility for ensuring all tax compliance requirements are adhered to, for any new or changes/amendments to existing processes and or structures.Ensure Tax is appropriately included in the annual financial statements across the CarTrawler Group.Main point of contact both internally and externally on all tax matters, ensuring communication is clear, concise and timely.Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders.Critical Interfaces: Senior finance team (Head of Finance, Head of Finance Projects, CFO).The nature of this role requires effective stakeholder management across all teams within the organisation.Knowledge and Experience: Qualified tax accountant with broad knowledge across all Tax heads.Knowledge of the application of tax practice and interpretations to the travel sector and the technology sector.Specific knowledge of VAT as applicable to the CarTrawler business model an advantage.Strong commercial awareness and ability to apply tax requirements to specific business decisions.Strong problem solving skills combined with strong analytical skills.Ability to work well under pressure whilst also demonstrating a keen eye for detail.
