Job Description & Summary: As a Senior Manager in the Tax Risk & Controversy team, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive experience, helping our clients navigate through Revenue interventions and manage their tax risk. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing the Revenue intervention process and liaising with Revenue throughout.Carrying out pre-audit testing and reviews across various tax heads (with a primary focus on Employment Tax) to identify areas for disclosure to Revenue.Assisting in the preparation of Qualifying Disclosures.Engaging with Revenue to agree on an appropriate tax settlement and the application of interest and penalties.Advising clients on their rights, Revenue powers, and strategy in managing Revenue interventions.Carrying out assessments of clients' tax controls and supporting them in developing a Tax Control Framework.General Responsibilities: Coach team members and drive the team to deliver results in a responsible, authentic, and passionate manner.Have an active role in training junior and senior staff members promoting a learning culture.Bring business knowledge, innovation, and insight to create value for clients and the firm.Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business.Set the tone in promoting risk management and compliance procedures.Operate and collaborate effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries.Work on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent for the firm.Direct and drive the success of multiple engagements.Manage within budgetary and time constraints while ensuring high client satisfaction.Contribute to a positive working environment.About you – Key skills and competencies: 7+ years of experience working in the Revenue Commissioners or a Big 4 firm/mid-tier practice or similar.Experience of Revenue audits/tax controls/controls testing is preferable.Experience of Employment Tax is desirable.Tax or Accountancy qualification (or qualified by experience) with a strong academic record.Expert at directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.Business Acumen - use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from market trends.Relationship management - ability to build quality, diverse relationships.Creative - demonstrate an ability to propose innovative solutions to problems.Unlock your potential with PwC Ireland: We believe that challenges are better solved together.
