Job description Team Leader - Homeless Support Services (Social Care background required) We are recruiting for a permanant Team Leader role in a Homeless setting on behalf of a Voluntary Organization and Approved Housing Body.
Our client provides support to families and individuals who are disadvantaged and socially excluded, with a particular focus on those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Team Leader Responsibilities Summary: Staff Management: Supervise, appraise, and support staff.
Ensure training, fair rotas, and accurate HR records.
Participate in recruitment and the on-call rota.
Client Support: Promote dignity, respect, and choice for clients.
Support them with trauma-informed care, housing advice, and life skills.
Maintain accurate client records and ensure safeguarding policies are followed.
Financial Responsibilities: Adhere to financial procedures and report discrepancies.
Health & Safety: Ensure client and staff safety, report hazards, manage incidents, and provide basic First Aid.
Liaison & Compliance: Attend meetings, promote the service, and ensure data security.
The appropriate candidate will have: Professional Qualification in Social Care, Youth and Community Work or related Social Science discipline, minimum level 7.
Experience in working with people who are homeless or other social care groups.
Administration skills for record keeping and report writing and computer literacy.
Ability to provide services that foster and enhance the dignity, development and independence of the individual.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
Understanding of the needs of vulnerable people who are homeless, with focus on the specific needs of women.
Knowledge of and a commitment to equal opportunities.
