AWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC), marking a significant development in utility computing (UC). To spearhead this initiative, we are actively seeking experienced Technical Program Managers with a strong background in program management and working with Software Engineers. As part of the AWS Managed Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-availability AWS services, including EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock, exclusively for EU customers.

Fluency in written and spoken English is required.Successful applicants must have the legal right to work in Ireland.Amazon will provide relocation support for successful applicants relocating within the European Union.Key job responsibilities: Work closely with the software development and product teams to deliver high quality, scalable products deployed around the world.Collaborate with the product teams to deliver the best product with the most efficient use of resources and technologies.Assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting project milestones.Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit.Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail-driven, and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical or business field6+ years of experience managing technical programs across cross-functional development teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExperience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definitionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in software architecture and system designExperience defining KPI's/SLA's used to scale the businesses and provide reporting to senior leadership.Strong sense of ownership, including an ability to promote operational excellence.Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Experience with AWS platforms, services and design patterns.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
