Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Test Automation Manager, who is committed to their work, and capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment to lead the Test System Team within the DevOps and Quality Assurance group.
This team is responsible for providing test automation and performance testing solutions, to support the Cubic engineering teams by building and maintaining test automation frameworks and tooling.
The Test Automation Manager will also be responsible for our Test Device Management, maintaining a connectivity lab and collaborating with third parties on connectivity and device testing, alongside automating end to end test flows to include hardware devices where possible.

Key Responsibilities Driving best-in-class test automation principles within the engineering group working as a Senior Subject Matter expert. Working closely with Engineering Managers and architecture to align and implement best practices. Owning, expanding and maintaining the Test Automation and Performance Testing Frameworks. Maintaining ownership of a connectivity lab and test devices – supporting end to end test scenarios. Driving efficiency in the team to maximise customer value and minimise waste including a reduction in cycle time, and improved Self-Service capabilities Leading the team through an evolution in Test Automation principles and frameworks. Providing guidance to direct reports in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and in achieving company initiatives. Driving Lean & Kanban principles and focusing on continuous process improvement. Tracking metrics and data - communicating with the team and upper management. Staying abreast of the latest trends in Test Automation and Performance Engineering. Working with the team, facilitating technical discussions, aiding in the decision-making process, documenting/communicating outcomes clearly with the team. Building high performing teams of innovative systems professionals by mentoring, coaching and developing internal talent and recruiting industry top talent. Investigating technical issues, removing blockers and distributing engineering tasks amongst the team members. Coordinating implementation of necessary tools / environments and devices for test automation engineers, within the established Technology Radar maintained by the Architecture Team. Integrating with and expanding on Engineering Quality Dashboards to provide standardised test automation visibility and insights across the engineering group. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or relevant work experience. People and project management skills. Demonstrated strong sense of ownership, enthusiasm for technology and initiative. Natural team player and leader promoting the team members and helping their professional growth. Experience of running and maintaining applications in Azure and AWS Experience in measuring and improving the performance of production systems. Experience with common patterns in distributed systems, e.g. REST, SOA, SaaS, Microservices. Industry experience with Agile development methodologies, preferably Kanban. Experience working in a continuous testing environment and using Continuous Integration tools. Experience with functional and non-functional test automation. Strong understanding and knowledge of all phases of testing and standard test automation techniques. Performance Test Engineering Experience. Excellent communicator with both technical and non-technical subjects. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Result oriented and focused on successful delivery. Desirable Skills Electrical Engineering background / experience. Experience using Test Management software. (E.g. TestRail) Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira Telecoms/IP Networking experience. Experience testing IoT/M2M applications or systems. Experience working with API and web application mocking tools. Experience configuring TLS/SSL on server infrastructure. Mobile Device testing experience. Hardware Lab Management experience. Working in an Agile development environment. ISTQB Certification.
