We are seeking a Trading Manager. The role will be based in Ballymun but we operate a hybrid working model.
Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the overall design & development, planning, scheduling of your category ensuring all key initiatives best represent our Commercial Plan and Brand Strategies.Produce and implement business development plans for all business units incorporating:Assess commercial performance of current rangeReview market trends and opportunitiesReview competitor offeringsAssess current pricing and margin performanceReview competitor price positioningDevelop appropriate promotional strategies to drive profitabilityEnsure that inbound service levels are on target.Ensure that we are leveraging our group buying power effectively.Through effective management of the administrative resource, ensure that your product and price file is continuously and accurately maintained.Support the Business Units by making regular site visits to achieve the following objectives:Solicit customer feedback & insightCommunicate relevant changes and developmentsCoach, mentor and motivate the appropriate business unit colleaguesSupport the business units through development of working relationship with the sales teams and the key customers.Be prepared to commit to further education programs as appropriate.Measures: Quality of business development plansSales and margin performance by category by business unitsInbound service levelsAdministrative measures – e.g. First time match rateFrequency, quality and effectiveness of site visits to Cash & Carry'sQuality of relationships developed with DCR & DFS sales teamsExperience, Skills & Education: Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a buying/trading team with responsibility for managing categories or product portfoliosExperience in data analysis and interpretationProven track record of delivering commercial results in a fast-moving environmentExperience of working on a cross-functional or cross-departmental basisStrong commercial acumen and customer focusSystematic problem-solving skillsTeam player with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make decisions, meet targets and work under pressureExcellent planning and organisational skills3rd level qualification in Business, Finance or related subjectSound Category Management experience within the food retail/wholesale industryKnowledge of the Irish and UK grocery industryMusgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
