Business Sector:      Dan O'Connor Feeds   Job Title:                       Transport and Logistics Planner/Scheduler                                           JOB PURPOSE:          Working within a busy transport team, to effectively and efficiently organise transport load planning from day to day.
Develop a more efficient and cost-effective logistics function   REPORTING TO:          Transport Manager   LOCATION:                 Limerick     RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:           Building close working relationships and consistently communicate with suppliers, operations, sales and the customer base to develop a more efficient transport and logistics function         Working with on site cross functional teams in delivering transport and logistic related changes/upgrades         Planning and scheduled finished bagged product and outgoing Greenvale products to maximum efficiency and to the agreed service levels         Scheduling, controlling and allocating drivers as required         Developing and implementing a more streamlined transport and logistics function         Providing customer support and ensuring that customers have up to date delivery information         Using telesales to improve vehicle pay loads         Working extensively with other departments to ensure that all systems are in line with requirements         Liaising with sales and operations to deliver real time information         Ensuring that all documentation and administration is completed to the highest standards         Providing support to the transport team during periods of annual leave     QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:         Hold a third level qualification a distinct advantage         Experience in transport/logistics scheduling/planning essential         Agricultural background will be beneficial     KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:       Excellent command of English (both written and verbal)       Strong communication skills       Methodical approach to work       Must be comfortable and have experience with transport/logistics systems.
Good PC skills.
      Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision       Ability to work well with others and use a team approach       Ability to multitask     PERSONAL ATTRIBUES / CORE BEHAVIOURS:         Exceptionally strong organisational and interpersonal skills         High motivation, Flexibility and the ability to work on own initiative   Note: As with all positions, due to the nature of our business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.


Nominal Salary: To be agreed
