As Transport Manager at La Rousse Foods, you are accountable for the operations of the transport department in accordance with budgetary constraints and legal compliance while achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers.
You will oversee the direction and coordination of all transportation matters within the department, ensuring that budgets are managed, and schedules & routes are organized.
You will also ensure that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and that drivers are aware of their duties in relation to standards.
Please note the working pattern for this role is 5 days a week – Monday to Friday, plus 1 Saturday in 4.
The key responsibilities of this position include: Manage all areas of the transport department to achieve/exceed service level agreements to the highest standards.Control all department costs within agreed budgets and ensure all rotas are reviewed regularly, with plans in place for key peak periods.Manage all areas of the transport department effectively to deliver service excellence and goods to customers within required timescales to maximize shift efficiency.Maintain all company equipment, including vehicles, to a high standard and ensure all relevant records are maintained to conform to legislation.Manage the team of supervisors and drivers, ensuring appraisals, people management, and conduct issues are addressed, and employees are appraised in line with performance standards.Ensure that all equipment is maintained to company standards and all damages are recorded and stored according to damage procedures.Operate the department in compliance with all company audit and legal standards, including Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Internal Audits.Deputise on behalf of the Operations Manager during times of holiday or absence, and for line managers as required, undertaking additional duties if necessary.Experience, Skills and Education: Experience in a similar role and in the food service/distribution environment.Exceeding KPIs in a distribution business.Experience of working within a team to provide customer service.Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
