Transport Planner

Job Title: Transport Planner Location: Shannon, Co. Clare Salary: €33,000 - €36,000 Full-Time/Permanent Benefits: 3% Pension, Death in Service Role Overview: We are seeking a Transport Planner for one our clients based in Shannon.
You will coordinate and oversee daily transport operations for domestic road freight and logistics customers, ensuring vehicle efficiency, load optimization, and high customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities: Vehicle Planning: Schedule domestic road freight and logistics services.
Performance Monitoring: Optimize vehicle usage, trunking efficiency, and load distribution.
Transport Admin: Update transport documentation, collection, and delivery statuses.
Liaison: Coordinate with depots, departments, drivers, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Problem Resolution: Address customer inquiries and resolve operational issues promptly.
Data Management: Accurately input and manage transport-related data.
Job Processing: Process transport job requests from customers (via email, spreadsheets, EDI).
Rate Application: Apply customer rates and supplier charges.
Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance for inbound trailer arrivals with the warehouse team.
Support: Assist customers and drivers with queries and shipment tracking.
Customer Service: Relay and resolve customer service issues efficiently.
Driver Debriefing: Ensure drivers are debriefed and using handheld devices correctly.
Routing & GPS: Manage transport routing and GPS systems for the Shannon fleet.
Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high standards of customer service.
Skills & Requirements: Experience: Previous experience in transport planning or logistics.
Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data management.
