As a Visual (UI) and Interaction Designer, your job will be to help shape the experience of people who buy experience gifts from homepage to payment, across our multiple brand sites on desktop, mobile and app. You'll be working with the Lead UX Designer on a range of projects and will manage the UI output and developer handoff. Knowledge of UX practices and skills is helpful, but your visual design skills and ability to bring motion and interaction are what we're seeking.
Responsibilities: Accountable for the visual design of the "buyer" experience – from finding a gift, all the way to paying for it – including functional prototypes for testing and delivery. Manage the Visual (UI) design output and execution tasks of projects from basic to complex e.g. new features, improving our current look & feel and even brand redesigns. Ensure consistency and alignment of design through web and app. Work with the lead UX designer to continuously evaluate and iterate designs through user feedback, analytics, and AB tests and other data-driven insights. Collaborate with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders across the business – including Marketing, Brand and Commerce. Accountable for the progression of the Smartbox design system. Asset management, library upkeep and good design system documentation are important to this role. Active contribution and collaboration with graphic designers to oversee content design that aligns and elevates our sites. Requirements: 3+ Years experience in UX/UI design with a focus on UI design; from ideation to handoff and design system management. Experience working across app and web; responsive & adaptive design, interactive components and template design. Demonstrable experience of good developer handoff, design file management and managing multiple brands. Good understanding of development lifecycle, technology and challenges. Experience of balancing longer term vision tasks, and shorter-term execution tasks, including recognising and managing design dependencies. Action oriented and self-managed; balancing multiple ongoing projects timely. Strong EQ and collaboration to bring the broader team on the journey to your vision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong portfolio demonstrating a track record of designing and delivering successful user/business-centric digital products across web and app platforms. Up-to-date with the latest design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and advocate for their integration into the design process. Bonus skills: Brand, graphic or content design skills (including infographics) – while you will not be designing banners or product content, experience with these would be beneficial.
