At Kilsaran, we are trusted by businesses and contractors alike to produce quality construction materials that are fundamental in the creation of our national infrastructure, including large commercial buildings, domestic and agricultural construction, office blocks and major road networks.
  We are seeking candidates who wish to serve a full four-year Solas Construction Plant Fitting Apprenticeship.
This opportunity is based at our quarry in Gallstown, Co.Louth.
You Will Be Trained and Supervised In The Following Areas:         Assist with the maintenance and repair of engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
        Support servicing and repairs on small plant equipment, washing plants, screeners, and crushers.
        Help with fault finding, diagnosing issues, and carrying out basic repairs on machinery such as Loading Shovels, Excavators, HGV Trucks, Front-End Loaders etc.
        Learn to maintain and repair tracked vehicles and mobile hydraulic systems.
        Gain experience in servicing brake systems, diesel fuel systems, and steering mechanisms.
        Shadow senior technicians to develop skills in machinery inspection and routine servicing.
        Be fully compliant with Company Health & Safety: policies, procedures, systems and rules, report all hazards and incidents and ensure that you work safely at all times.
Skills Required:         Minimum of 5 passes in Junior Cert Certificate.
        Effective written & verbal communication skills.
        Strong planning & organisation skills.
        Previous experience in welding / fabrication an advantage.
