Checkout Operator

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Checkout Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have/be: 2 years' experience in a retail role is desirableAbility to balance tillsExcellent communication skillsAbility to engage with and prioritise customer needsStrong attention to detail, organised and flexibleAbility to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentMain Duties: Actively live SuperValu brand-values i.e. Genuine, Passion for Food, Vibrant, Committed, Innovative and ImaginativeUse a computerised till system that has a barcode scannerWeigh and price products such as fruit and vegetablesCheck customers' ages for restrictions on items such as alcoholPack customers' purchasesProcess store loyalty cards, coupons and vouchersTake payments and make sure the till balances at the end of the daySpend time away from the till, stocking shelves and checking stockMerchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all timesAttend and engage in team meetings and implement any learningsCheckout Operator required for Riordans Supervalu Fermoy - P61AX04 Part-time position, working evenings from 5.00pm to 9.00pm Monday to Thursday. Tuesday shift: 17:00 to 21:00
