Role OverviewAs Device Product Manager, you will lead Vodafone's Smartphone Circular Economy initiatives responsible for building and executing the marketing strategy to deliver device sales and revenue growth. This role will focus on Trade-In programs, device repairs, and the promotion of 2nd Life devices.
Essence of Role – Key AccountabilitiesProduct Strategy and Vision Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Smartphone Circular Economy and Destination for Devices, focusing on Trade-In, Repairs, and 2nd Life devices.Define, manage and communicate the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer needs.Product Delivery Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch, including requirement gathering, development, testing, go-to-market/launch, and in-life optimisation.Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholder and delivery teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.Work closely with local and Global technical teams to define product specifications and ensure the development of high quality, scalable solutions.Stay informed on latest technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the circular economy space.Commercial Acumen Develop business cases and financial models to support product decisions and demonstrate the value of circular economy initiatives.Identify and evaluate market opportunities, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product development and positioning.Liaise with the Devices Commercial Lead, Devices Services Lead and Segment Commercial Lead to deliver best-in-market Trade in supports from OEMs and net pricing on 2nd Life devices.Partner Management and Compliance Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including trade in & logistics partners to ensure compliance with all relevant regulation and customer experience standards.Promote best practices in environmental responsibility and corporate social responsibility within the product management team and across the organization.Represent the 'Devices' team in key reviews, in particular monthly marketing planning and reviews.Core Competencies and Behavioral SkillsA team player, with ability to engage peers, coordinate activities, coach for performance.A genuine leader, able to bring people along while not having formal people-management responsibility.Agile ways of working, with a customer focus, problem-solving and collaborative mindset.Ability to look to the future, identifying challenges and opportunities, and participate in marketing & product strategy formulation and implementation.A 'growth' mindset, enthusiast even in times of change, and challenging the status-quo.Can see the big picture, while having an attention to details.Inherently curious, thinking out of the box, looking outward, with a positive attitude to challenges.Solution driven, with fact-based, structured and methodical mindset to solve problems.Analytically skilled, pragmatic use of data to drive decision-making and create comprehensive performance reports.Customer obsessed.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, assimilate and communicate knowledge and information clearly and succinctly.Technical / Professional QualificationsBusiness, Marketing or Technical Degree with at least 3 years in a product management function.Proven track record of successfully delivering products from concept to market.Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment and Vodafone's Planet Pillar.Strong understanding of the circular economy, sustainability practices and smartphone lifecycle.Excellent and proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time critical deadlines.Experience managing external partnerships and vendor relationships.GovernanceAdopting Agile ways of working with the team and business stakeholders, e.g. Sprint requirements and reviews.Quarterly Circular Economy presentations to business stakeholders (including SLT).Quarterly Device Commercial reviews with internal business stakeholders (segments, finance).Quarterly Business review with key vendor partners.Monthly reviews of 'Destination for Devices with Devices team and wider business stakeholders.Monthly performance review of KPIs.Key Performance Indicators:Trade in volumes and sales attachment rate.Vodafone is committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best people by offering a motivating and inclusive workplace in which talent is truly recognised and rewarded.
