Whiskey has been distilled at Midleton Distillery since 1825. As well as being known for its much-loved whiskey brands including Jameson, Powers, Redbreast, Method and Madness, Green Spot, and Midleton Very Rare, the distillery is also home to one of Ireland's most impressive visitor centres – The Midleton Distillery Experience.
Jameson and the wider portfolio of whiskeys are amongst the world's favourite, and the Visitor Centre exists to offer whiskey fans the opportunity to learn, taste, and interact with these whiskeys at the distillery in which they are crafted.
About the role:A vacancy currently exists for a Duty Manager (permanent contract). We are looking for an energetic individual to join the management team with specific responsibility for Midleton Distillery Experience operations. With so many people travelling to the distillery, the successful candidate will be very organised with exceptionally high standards. They will be a strong leader who can coordinate and manage all areas of the day-to-day operations of the Midleton Distillery Experience.

What's involved?Take responsibility for, and effectively manage, day-to-day operations of the Midleton Brand Home with active leadership support and presence on the floor.Assist the management team providing managerial cover in all areas of the business and assisting with the completion of projects.Influence, support, and empower the team leaders within each function to take ownership of their department, and to work collaboratively in pursuit of common goals.Ensure every visitor engagement is executed with brand messaging at its core.Become familiar with all products and services offered within the Midleton Campus.Deal with complaints in a professional and admirable manner, converting disappointed visitors into advocates for our business.Challenge current procedures with a view towards continuous improvement.Provide support with the recruitment and training of staff.Ensure the Brand Home team is provided with continuous training, working with the Brand Home training coordinator to identify necessary training to establish a high-performing team.Challenge and drive efficiency with all contractors.Manage and control all aspects of site housekeeping and ambience.Oversee the caretaker role to ensure the entire campus site is presentable year-round, both inside and out.What are we looking for?A third level qualification preferable in Business, Tourism and/or Hospitality or another related discipline.Strong attention to detail with high standards.Knowledge and experience of Irish whiskey production processes seen as an advantage.Good interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence at different levels.High level of organisational and project management skills.Up-to-date IT skills and an appetite to embrace new technology.Fluency in English is required for this position.
