Executive Legal Counsel 4 years + PQE either as Barrister or Solicitor in In-house Counsel? Our semi-state client is hiring an Executive Legal Counsel, initially on a 13-month contract basis. You will sit in the Governance & Procurement department and report to the Senior Legal Counsel. This is very much an advisory position, with a key focus on regulatory and contract law, but the successful candidate will also gain excellent exposure across a number of areas, contributing to a wide range of functions. It will be of particular interest to those who have genuine interests in sustainability, energy, and climate matters.
Key Responsibilities:Provide Legal & Regulatory advisory across all statutory functionsAssist the Senior Legal Counsel in managing a varied legal case loadReview, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts and the review of Procurement contractsOffer advisory to the DPO and Information Compliance OfficerIdentify commercial and legal risks and follow up with strategies to mitigate themThis role will suit a candidate who has solid experience in a commercial environment and sound knowledge of contract law and/or public law, and experience in applying sound legal judgment to complex issues. Relationship and communication skills are essential - you will join a hardworking and collaborative team. In return, expect access to a varied and dynamic workload on very topical matters.
Salary is €72,511 and the working week is 35 hours, with 27 days annual leave. A hybrid model is in place, typically 3:2. While initially offered on a contract basis, we are keen to speak to candidates who may not consider contract work in the short term and provide some further context to the client and the role.
