It places individuals with disabilities at the core of its work, also providing a diverse suite of learning opportunities including inclusive design workshops, disability equality and awareness training and hosting transport accessibility projects with transport, urban realm and academic stakeholders to help address the transport accessibility gap.  The centre also prioritises the provision of travel training programs designed to help those with access requirements and disabilities build the skills and confidence to navigate public transport safely and easily.   Read more about our exciting journey on our website https://thewayfindingcentre.ie/   An excellent Opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Inclusive Designer  Role Overview: The Inclusive Designer will be responsible for championing the integration of human-centred inclusive design principles and accessibility embedded across all aspects of the work program.
The position will play a vital role within the Wayfinding Centre project, leading on all aspects of inclusive design, the position requires a strong commitment to ensuring equal access for all individuals, including those with diverse abilities and access needs.
Reporting to the Wayfinding Centre Manager, this role will have a focus on collaborative initiatives, user centred research and training.   The Inclusive Designer will play a crucial role in developing and fostering meaningful connections between the Wayfinding Centre and a diverse range of stakeholders including individuals with a disability, representative organisations and transport services.  The successful candidate will be have a proven track record of delivering comprehensive inclusive design advice, have a high degree of probity and integrity along with the ability to operate in a politically sensitive and fast-growing environment.
They must be able to demonstrate an understanding of current and evolving policy, practice and guidance regarding inclusive design.  Contracted hours: 37 hours per week.
Full time, permanent position.  Location: Glasnevin, Co. Dublin.

Informal enquiries by email only to ****** Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop cross-functional workshops and training sessions to promote disability awareness and understanding of inclusive design.  Conduct user centred research and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities to gain insights into their needs, preferences, and pain points.
Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations that prioritise inclusivity.
Support a range of projects from planning to implementation, monitoring progress and communicating as per agreed reporting schedules and timelines.
Act as an advocate for inclusive design within the Wayfinding Centre and public transportation in Ireland, fostering a culture of accessibility and empathy.
Engage with external accessibility communities and forums to contribute to the broader discourse on inclusive design.  Conduct thorough accessibility appraisals as required to identify potential barriers and gaps in designs, processes, and environments, including innovative design spaces and research projects.
Create comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and priority areas for improvement.  Support planning and execution of community events, collecting insights to inform effective project planning and decision-making.
Contribute to the development of standards, inclusive design guidelines and best practices that align with international accessibility standards.  Support the development of the Access Ambassador program and community which serves the function of the work program and service  Collaborating closely with the team to create operational efficiencies and support the daily smooth operations of the centre  Identify and create new referral partners to generate new clients.
Keep accurate records in the client management system of each interaction, produce reports and provide statistical data for analysis and decision making purposes Be vigilant to any H&S risks regarding the use of the centre and bring any concerns to the attention of the manager  Behavioural Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong influencing and diplomacy skills  Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively Highly data driven, analytical and structured Ability to engage with people who have disabilities, reduced mobility and/or cultural and individual differences  Skills & Experience Required Track record in providing inclusive design workshops, user testing and presentations  Track record of success in providing comprehensive inclusive design and accessibility advice.
Demonstrable success holding a key role in inclusive design or accessibility for major projects.
Demonstrable experience in finding creative and innovative solutions to embedding inclusive design within complex projects.
Experience of working effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience and appreciation of the issues concerning inclusive design within transport and mobility would be highly regarded.
An understanding of the issues facing diverse communities (focused on but not limited to disabled and older people) within transport and the built environment.
Qualifications Degree or professional qualification relevant to access and inclusive design and/or an equivalent level and depth of knowledge of inclusive design and accessibility.
Being IAAP Certified, is an advantage Evidence of continuous professional development.
