JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician will provide technical support to the Integer, New Ross facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out Preventive, Emergency and Corrective Maintenance of all equipment and fixtures throughout the plant. Troubleshoot with respect to repair of all equipment on the production floor, whilst ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum. Monitor equipment performance and, using problem-solving methodology based on data analysis, suggest and implement countermeasures. Adopt new methods and systems of work to continually improve the operational availability of equipment. Follow standardised work procedures wherever these have been set down. Suggest further developments to these systems. Proactive decision making, bearing in mind the priorities of the Maintenance Department as advised by the Maintenance Supervisor. Work efficiently using own initiative, escalating decisions to the Maintenance Supervisor as, when, and only when, necessary. Assist with the training of other Maintenance Personnel. Adhere to a Planned Maintenance schedule on all production equipment. Complete all required documentation accurately and legibly. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene during maintenance work including the maintenance workstations and storage areas. Representing the Maintenance Department within teams, participate in TPM and Lean Manufacturing activities. Provide technical skill and expertise to these teams. Facilitate and assist in the development of good work practices and problem solving among production teams. Work with the Engineering, Design and Automation Build Departments in the design, construction, testing, commissioning and stabilising of new equipment and processes. Help maintain good morale throughout the plant. Provide technical skill and expertise when involved in analysing non-conforming material for cause, rework and / or corrective action. Work with other departments, especially the quality departments to ensure product meets design input requirement and quality specification. Assist operators in machine set ups. Understand and observe Integer conduct & safety procedures. Be an active member of the Integer team and work with all employees to develop a world class lean manufacturing system. Comply with the Integer behavioral standards. Undertake additional tasks as assigned. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to communicate and work with people inside and outside the Department while at all times using excellent interpersonal skills and presenting a professional, friendly and courteous image of Integer. Thorough product knowledge. Good technical ability. Knowledge of manufacturing operations, systems, inventory, quality control and production planning. Participate in cross/multiskilling activities as necessary. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent. Be a time served crafts person (Mechanical or Electrical) or possess a Third level technical qualification with relevant experience and training. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work effectively with close tolerance. MENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to work in an organised fashion.
