As Product Manager, Third Party Data Management, you will serve as a pivotal shared service across IBM's ESG and Environmental Intelligence portfolio, and will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of third-party data provider management, from initial assessment and due diligence to ongoing performance monitoring and iteration. You will ensure that third-party data is seamlessly integrated, compliant with IBM standards, and effectively meets the business needs of our products. This role requires close collaboration with legal, technical, and product teams to ensure the successful onboarding and maintenance of third-party data providers.
Responsibilities
Initial Assessment and Due Diligence: Work with product leads to identify business needs for third-party data, evaluate potential providers, conduct legal and compliance reviews, and perform risk assessments focused on data security and vulnerabilities.
Technical Evaluation: Participate in analysis which looks at data compatibility within the respective product architectures- including API capabilities and scalability, and performance testing to ensure data feeds meet IBM standards.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms related to data usage, licensing, and intellectual property, establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and agree on pricing models, billing cycles, and payment terms.
Integration Planning: Map third-party data to respective product's data model, design integration approaches, and implement security measures and compliance monitoring.
Training and Documentation: Provide training and enablement assets to internal teams on new data integrations and create detailed documentation on the integration process, data flows, and troubleshooting guides.
Ongoing Management: Continuously monitor the performance and reliability of data integrations, conduct regular audits and reviews, and manage ongoing updates and maintenance of data schemas and types.
Feedback and Iteration: Gather user feedback, identify issues or areas for improvement, and continuously enhance the data integration based on feedback and evolving business needs.
