Job Description Overview
This job description defines the role of a Product Development Engineer and outlines the following responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Product Development Work within a multidisciplinary team on diverse projects, both internally and on behalf of clients (which may include multiple simultaneous projects).Liaise with internal user-centered design and manufacturing functions.Support concept development, feasibility, design & testing (verification & validation) execution stages of new products or product enhancements.Support development of mechanical design solutions for early stage and end stage product development.Develop products using SolidWorks 3D CAD, proficient in complex assemblies and surface modeling (if necessary) - 2D drawings.Support activity to ensure that customer requirements are defined, translated into product development specifications, and ultimately delivered.Work closely with and manage both internal and external specialists to progress projects through to completion.Manage and support prototyping/testing concept designs and initial engineering builds.Development of product specification & test method development of design verification test protocols and reports.Resolve design, testing, and manufacturing issues as they arise using appropriate mathematic theory and FEA/simulation analysis where necessary.Complete process development activities such as tolerance development to ensure robust function and process capability.Use Adobe Suite to communicate design and engineering concepts. Project Management / Documentation / Quality / PR Monitor project performance against scope, timing, budget, risk, and report variance.Prepare reports to communicate status and results internally and to customers.Compile product specification packages for production release (component drawings, inspection criteria, material specs, work instructions, packaging specs, etc.).Ensure that documentation such as product development, manufacturing process, and test specifications/procedures are completed in compliance with internal and external regulatory and quality requirements.Participate in PR and sales support activity as required. Skills & Qualifications: Level 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.Engineering experience in medical device or other highly regulated environments is an advantage.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Results-driven and able to deliver.High energy with the adaptability and flexibility to deal with continuous change and innovation.
